03Interview

Describe your style in three words?

Retro, Geezer, From a Market Stool

The first track you played on repeat? And where did you play it?

The Streets - Blinded by the Lights

This song speaks to my early 20's driving at night, reminiscing about my life and how I can muster up the courage to text the girl I like. Lurvved it in Kidulthood as well.

A song from your favourite album? And what does this track mean to you?

Michael Jackson - Human Nature

Thriller is still my favourite album of all time. It has it all! '80s cheese, African chanting, A Van Halen solo, and McCartney crooning. But it's the Toto penned Human Nature that captured a young BUSTER aged 10. And yes I did have hair back then.

A song from your most memorable gig?

The 1975 - She Way Out

The fact they made a song about a girl who can't dance, was funny to me. Coming from Romford this was common practise every weekend for an average Essex girl in Yates. Oh and the first time at Ally Pally... what a view.

A song that always gets you up and dancing?

Sweet Female Attitude - Flowers - Sunship Radio Edit

Any garage track makes me dance. This garage track made me fall in love at the same time.

A new song you're listening to? Why do you like this artist?

Pelicandy - You and Me Baby

This band bring everything I want in a Synth Pop band. Melody, Falsetto and Glitter.

Best song to turn up loud? And why?

Spandau Ballet - Gold - 2003 Remastered Version

I mean Tony Hadley...mate...how can you not turn up the volume when the geeza croons "You could leave me standing so talllllll". Emphasis on the tall.

A song that defines the teenage you? And the memories it evokes?

The Streets - Let's Push Things Forward

Remembering pissing myself laughing on the walk to school back in the day with one of those old portable cd players, the one that when you walk the track would bounce every 2 seconds.

An anthemic song? Why does it get your pulse racing?

Mott The Hoople - All the Young Dudes

Probably the most anthemic chorus of all time? Ok maybe Wonderwall is. SIGH.

Best song to end an all-nighter?

Duran Duran - Save a Prayer - 2009 Remaster

Save a Prayer for my liver. Geezers say 70 is the new 50.
