Describe your style in three words?
Don't care much.
The first track you played on repeat?
The Damned - Smash It Up, Pt. 1 & 2
Used to play this everyday on my way to school. I recall loving the drumming in it and the fact that Dave Vanian repeatedly shouts 'Smash it up!' throughout. Thought I was very cool and rebellious listening to it.
A song from your favorite album?
The White Stripes - Ball and Biscuit
How just two people could bring so much noise and energy is beyond me. Every track on this album is phenomenal, but 'Ball and Biscuit' stands out for its seven minutes of pure genius from Jack White.
A song from your most memorable gig?
Beastie Boys - Sure Shot
Live Earth 2007. The Beastie Boys were my favourite Hip Hop group and a kid, so seeing them play at Live Earth at the age of eleven, was something special.
A song that always gets you up and dancing?
Deee-Lite - Groove Is in the Heart
The jazz riffs, the golden vocals, that weird little whistle sound you hear every now and then. It just really is the grooviest dance song of all time.
A new song you're listening to?
IDLES - Mother
I only recently found IDLES but immediately loved their sound for its combative and aggressive nature. They're the first punk band since the classics who I've actually taken a liking to.
Best song to turn up loud?
Rage Against The Machine - Guerrilla Radio
Listen to this whenever I need to get fired up. The song is non stop mania, and well it'd be rude to not listen to it all the way turned up.
A song that defines the teenage you?
Siouxsie and the Banshees - Love In A Void
Would listen to this after school when me and all my mates would head to Stockwell skatepark. Made me feel like I could do anything.
An anthemic song?
XXXTENTACION - King
It may come as a surprise, but me and X were very close friends. He very tragically passed away not so long ago, and it has to be 'King' which stands out to me as his most powerful song.
Best song to end an all-nighter?
Chet Baker - My Funny Valentine
Such a mellow and delicate song. My favourite from Chet Baker's extensive and wonderful discography.
