Holly Chant…Where I am from is a bit of a long story but where I am now is London.
I’m one half of an acoustic duo called “Xylaroo.” I sing and my sister plays guitar and sings too.
Androgynous, comfortable and casual.
Listen to it while you're in the shower and sing along! Or don’t! and listen to it however you’d like… there’s no one right way, only many, many wrong ways to listen to our music. Also listening to it on our newly released album which comes in CD and Vinyl is a good start.
Home-cooked food, my bed, time to myself, sleeping in, my cat, and most importantly, precious time with the ones I love.
The Beatles, The Animals, The Kinks, David Bowie, Elton John, Rod Stewart, Queen, Mika, Fleetwood Mac (Kinda British).
Xylaroo won over fans from an early stage, getting attention with their cover of Arctic Monkeys' "I Bet You Look Good On The Dance Floor". Their latest single "Track A' Lackin'" features another great cover version on the B-side - Gloria Gaynor's "I Will Survive".
Can’t quite remember which was the first song I played on repeat but “All That She Wants” by Ace of Base was definitely one of the first. I think it was on a favourite compilation CD my parents had- Think it was Now That’s What I Call Music 1990-something or other.
“Rock ’n’ Roll Suicide” by David Bowie from album “The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars”. Great musician, was always one step ahead of the times.
I think the Beatles have inspired nearly every musician. I wish I had written all of their songs especially - “Across the Universe”.
"This is one of the greatest song's I've ever heard. It's a traditional folk song of unknown origins. The Animals' version is one of the best out there".
An absolutely beautiful song about fame, how it fades and the loneliness it can bring. Particularly poignant after finding out about her extraordinary life and the hardships she endured.
Lovely, easy-going song with mesmerizing lyrics. A little snapshot into London life.
Awesome song about love and romantic tensions. Great for a road trip... it makes you feel good!
The groovy nature of this song cloaks it's thoughtful lyrics. Even though it was released in 1979 Roger Hodgson's words are as relevant today as they we're then. One to make you think!
