Fatboy Slim - Praise You - Radio Edit

This was a tune my Dad had on cassette. When I was younger, before bed he used to put it on and spin me around the living room by my hands. It never helped me sleep instead I went to bed incredibly dizzy. But still today it remains one of my favourite songs, thanks Dad.

The Streets - Turn the Page

Original Pirate Material was my first taste of UK hip hop and garage. Mike Skinner is a genius and this debut album is one I will never get bored of. Every time I listen to it more meaning behind the lyrics come to life.

A song from your most memorable gig?

Arctic Monkeys - From The Ritz To The Rubble

When Arctic Monkeys first came about I could finally sing along in my normal accent. I went to see them in 2011 at their homecoming gig in Sheffield with my Mum and mate Harri. It was the first time we saw them and the atmosphere was incredible! Big up South Yorkshire.

A song that always gets you up and dancing?

The Jam - Town Called Malice

I first heard it on the film Billy Elliot and have loved it ever since. How can you not dance along?

A new song you're listening to? Why do you like this artist?

Sam Fender - Dead Boys

The lyrics to this song are heartbreaking and touch on the subject of male suicides. Me and my friends lost a wonderful friend late last year and know how important mental health awareness is. It's good to see an artist recognise this too.

Best song to turn up loud? And why?

The Vaccines - Wetsuit

Picture this... It's summer in the UK, the sun is shining, this song starts playing, everyone is singing along with a Corona in hand.

The Wombats - Techno Fan

I remember standing on my high school playground sharing earphones with my friend Em. The Wombats were always our band of choice during school and we would choose a song and spend so much time learning all the lyrics off by heart and singing along during lunchtime.

An anthemic song? Why does it get your pulse racing?

ABBA - Dancing Queen

We're all dancing queens, this song is for anyone. I have found myself dancing in kitchens, gardens, bathrooms, showers and clubs to this song and it was a running tune throughout my time at uni, dancing with all my best mates.

Best song to end an all-nighter?

Gorillaz - On Melancholy Hill

Melancholy is about feeling deflated, and when I am my best mate Soph always has my back. Listening to the synth in this at the end of the night with a bag of chips always makes me smile and does the exact opposite to the songs meaning.
