A Anorak Patch Photo
Name, where are you from?
Ef: Effie, Colchester.
O: Oscar, Colchester.
L: Luca, Colchester.
El: Eleanor, Colchester.
Describe your style in three words?
L: TN's polo bling.
El: Mum gone rogue.
What’s the best gig you’ve ever been to?
Ef&O: black midi - Rough Trade Wast as we were so close to the stage and it was the last gig we saw of them with Matt still in the band.
If you could be on the line up with any two artists in history?
Ef: Boards of Canada as I find their music relaxing and yet so interesting. Black Country, New Road as I find their music so incredibly euphoric and they are one of my favourite bands to see live.
El: I’d love to play with Lizzo honestly because she seems like such a high energy, fun person. And because of their influence on how we present ourselves and our music as a band, black midi.
Which subcultures have influenced you?
Ef&El: Post-punk and the music scene surrounding it as the bands contain such talented musicians and they are captivating to see live.
L: Jungle because the bass is wicked.
O: The post-hardcore scene of Olympia and Washington D.C. because I'm really into the genres that inspired post-hardcore so it was exciting to discover that music and the culture around it.
If you could spend an hour with anyone from history?
O: Angela Davies as her speeches and books are awe-inspiring.
Ef: Jeff Buckley as I am such a big fan of his music and his voice is incredible.
L: Squarepusher.
Of all the venues you’ve been to or played, which is your favourite?
All: Rough Trade Bristol - the sound was brilliant and the reception from the audience was one of my favourites.
Your greatest unsung hero or heroine in music?
Ef: Georgia Ellery from Black Country, New Road. I find the violin and instruments like that so interesting and I would love to get into learning an instrument similar to that.
O: Geordie Greep because it’s Geordie Greep
L: Morgan Simpson (black midi).
Anorak Patch recently released their new single 'Delilah'. Listen, purchase or stream it via push.fm/fl/anorakdelilah.
The first track you played on repeat?
O: 'Beat Again' by JLS.
L: 'All The Small Things' by Blink-182.
A song that defines the teenage you?
O: 'Paranoid Android' by Radiohead.
One record you would keep forever?
Ef&O: 'In Rainbows' by Radiohead.
El: 'Tubular Bells' by Mike Oldfield (as it was her older cousin's record).
A song lyric that has inspired you?
Ef: "Decadence and anarchy / He said, he smiled / Something to dance to / A certain style / Smile"
From 'Smile' by The Fall. I enjoy everything The Fall created, Mark E Smith is a brilliant lyricist and the way he presents the words makes them even more incredible.
The song that would get you straight on the dance floor?
Ef: 'Let’s Groove' by Earth, Wind & Fire.
El: 'Born Slippy' by Underworld.
L: 'Ridin Solo' by Jason Derulo.
A song you wished you had written?
L: 'Too Shy For Tennis' by Baby Dave.

A song people wouldn’t expect you to like?
L: 'Daily Duppy' by Headie One.
El: 'Black Dice' by Death Grips.
Best song to end an all-nighter on?
O: 'Rechargeable' by Snapped Ankles.
L: 'Turn That Noise Down' by Chas & Dave.
