Name, where are you from?
My name is Danny Sanchez and I grew up South West of the Thames to Spanish and Paraguayan parents.

Describe your style in three words?
Better for bunnin'.

What’s the best gig you’ve ever been to?
The best gig I’ve ever been to was when Denzel Curry came to London in 2016. I’d been listening to him constantly so seeing him live was amazing. The energy in the room was nuts. I remember mosh pitting so hard I lost my cap and found it under some guys foot at the end of the gig and it was ruined.

If you could be on the line up with any two artists in history?
I would’ve loved to be on the line up with a band like Aventura. Being Latino and growing up in a Latino household, Romeo Santos was an icon. Every family function me and my cousin would play 'Ella Y Yo' by Aventura (ft. Don Omar). I would be Romeo Santos and my cousin would be Don Omar. I would love to be on the lineup with IAMDDB. When I first heard her music she was just such a huge inspiration for me and helped me become bolder and more experimental. 'Trophy' was on repeat for months.

Which subcultures have influenced you?
I would say the London streetwear culture and creative scene influenced me a lot as it helped shape who I am today in terms of the music I make, what I wear and the people I’m mates with. Being around so many creative people always pushes you to perfect your craft even more. The London house scene has also been a large influence as of late. I love how we all come together to dance and enjoy the music in some dark sweaty venue. Doesn’t matter where you are as long as the speakers are booting off and everyone is grooving in the dance. I’ve met some of the best people raving.

If you could spend an hour with anyone from history?
Probably my Dad to be honest. He passed away when I was quite young and everyone tells me how similar we are and how much of a G he was so would love to kick back for an hour with my old man.

Of all the venues you’ve been to or played, which is your favourite?
It was a venue in Copenhagen. Not because of the venue necessarily but because of the experience. I got flown out by these guys called DoseSampu. It was my first gig abroad and the band that I played with were so talented. The crowd response was mad and to have that reaction so far from home was amazing I was very grateful. The Danish know how to party.

Your greatest unsung hero or heroine in music?
Probably Potter Payper even though he has seen more recent appreciation since coming out of prison. I feel like his cadence and lyrics are on a different level. His storytelling and ability to talk so openly about his feelings and the troubles he’s faced isn’t something seen too often in the UK rap scene especially the way he does it. 'Purple Rain' by Potter Payper will have you looking out the window deeping life.

Danny Sanchez recently released his double-single 'Love Is Long', containing the tracks 'Lately' (ft. Bel Cobain) and 'Too Much'. Both are produced by Kxmel and you can listen, purchase or stream them via songwhip.com/danny-sanchez/love-is-long.
