03Interview

Describe your style in three words?

Diverse, vintage, tomboy.

The first track you played on repeat?

Outkast - Ms. Jackson

I mostly listen to this song in the car. This was the song that originally got me interested in the genre of '90s hip-hop and the history behind it.

A song from your favorite album?

Kanye West - Gold Digger

This song was introduced to me at a party. The album itself reminds me of having fun with your mates. The song is based around a first-person narrative talking about a gold digger.

A song from your most memorable gig?

Billie Eilish - COPYCAT

Before Billie Eilish blew up and become a known worldwide pop star, I went to one of her first gigs in Central London. This was my first ever gig and I vaguely remember it being in a gay night club on a back street somewhere.

A song that always gets you up and dancing?

A Tribe Called Quest - Can I Kick It?

Nothing beats this, I’m sorry but no matter who you are you’ll find something to like about this song!

A new song you're listening to?

JAY-Z - Smile

I know this is an old album but I only just found it, and my god it’s good.

Best song to turn up loud?

Public Enemy - Harder Than You Think

'90s hip-hop will always have a place in music history, as it is so important and the foundation to a lot of modern music. This song should always be widely appreciated and turned up loud.

A song that defines the teenage you?

Verb T - Sittin' Here

I’m very eager to get on with the rest of my life and I’m always in a rush, this song draws you back to reality and always reminds me to slow down and not try and grow up to quickly, as I am still a teenager.

An anthemic song?

JAY-Z - Empire State Of Mind

If you don’t know the lyrics to this song then you live under a rock!

Best song to end an all-nighter?

JAY-Z - Heart Of The City (Ain't No Love)

It’s always good to end the night with a banger.
