A Robbie & Mona Photo
Name, where are you from?
W: Will, a mixture of Devon/Isle of Wight/Portsmouth.
E: Ellie, London/Devon.
We both live in Bristol at present.
Describe your style in three words?
W: Black ironed trousers.
E: Loose but leggy.
What’s the best gig you’ve ever been to?
W: Bristol Symphony Orchestra: Heartbeat at St George’s Bristol.
E: Pixies back in 2005! I was 15 in Paris sober but high couldn't stop laughing and weeping.
If you could be on the line up with any two artists in history?
E: Barbra Streisand because she is a golden pop star and knows Barry Gibb alongside The Vaselines because it would be jolly.
W: Elvis Costello and Al Green because of the Notting Hill soundtrack.
Which subcultures have influenced you?
E: Theosophical mysticism. A sort of religious subculture that teaches about the world based on mystical insight and intuition. It feeds into areas of thought that guide how I think and feel and therefore what I write and make.
W: Casuals. I don’t follow football or support the art of kicking another human beings head in because they support a rival football team to you, but that being said you have to admire a casuals devotion to their favoured football team. Maybe if we all felt as strongly as causals did towards their team in other things in life, maybe we’d all get a lot more meaningful things done.
If you could spend an hour with anyone from history?
W: Michael Palin because he's seen the world.
E: Hilma af Klint. She was an artist and mystic from the early 1900s... she seems like she was a very intelligent woman.
Of all the venues you’ve been to or played, which is your favourite?
W: Le Botanique in Brussels is pretty amazing! It's a beautiful old orangery and the grounds are botanical gardens.
Your greatest unsung hero or heroine in music?
E: Robbie Basho because he was so special.
W: David Gray cos he makes me happy.

From 'Tootsie Slide' by Drake.
W: "Curl my hair and eyelash, pinch my cheeks and do my lips, swing my hips just like you, smile and behave, a circle of perfection is what you gave, then one day I met a guy, he stole my heart no alibi, he said 'Romance is a ticket to paradise'."
