Describe your style in three words?
Georgia: Electronic, alternative and epic.

What’s the best gig you’ve ever been to?
Taylor: Stevie Wonder at Hard Rock Calling 2010.
I went with my dad. It was my first gig. I also saw Jamiroquai, James Morrison and Corinne Bailey Rae. Was the best gig ever.

If you could be on the line up with any two bands in history?
G: The Lemon Twigs because Brian and Michael’s live set is unbelievable and Die Antwoord because they are seriously cool and hard.

Which subcultures have influenced you?
T: Dubstep from the early 2000s has influenced the way I produce because of the attention to detail in the drum sounds.

If you could spend an hour with anyone from history?
G: Debussy - Suite Bergamasque: III. Clair de Lune. Because he's the god of harmony and melody.

Of all the independent venues you’ve played, which is your favourite?
T: So far Omeara was the funnest to play. Cus it was packed and has cool decor. It's also by London Bridge which is cool.

Your greatest unsung hero or heroine in music?
G: Daniel Ponce - 'Cojelo Suave'. Because I was only introduced to him last year!

Georgia Ellery and Taylor Skye met as drama students and formed Jockstrap a year later. Their performing arts backgrounds give them access to elements of jazz, classical and electronic music as well as experimental production techniques and captivating moving imagery to accompany their music.

04Playlist Notes

The first track you played on repeat?
G: 'Anything but Ordinary' by Avril Lavigne - I wished I was Avril so much.

A song that defines the teenage you?
T: 'I Never Learnt To Share' by James Blake.

One record you would keep forever?
G: 'Still Crazy After All These Years' by Paul Simon. I think it’s Paul Simon's most considered record. There are like 5 tracks on there that are literally perfect. Sonically, compositionally... bangin'.

A song lyric that has inspired you?
T: "Yeah-ah"

From 'Astrothunder' by Travis Scott.

A song you wished you had written?
G: 'California' by Joni Mitchell. The queen of songs.

Best song to turn up loud?
T: 'Never Let Her Slip Away' by Andrew Gold.

A song people wouldn’t expect you to like?
G: 'Fuego' (Spanish Version) by Elini Foureira.

The song that would get you straight on the dance floor?
T: 'God Has Signed My Name' by Walter Hawkins.

Best song to end an all-nighter?
G: 'Blue Dream' by Hype Williams. So dirgey and gross. Still feeling good though.
