All over the place, but we're based in sunny Guildford.
What do you do?
James - Bang the drums.
Ollie - Bass.
David - play guitar and occasionally have a bit of a singalong with max.
Max - I sing in the band.
Describe your style in three words?
D - Tucked In Tops.
O - Boy or Girl?
M - F***-in-brilliant.
If you could make a record with anyone from history?
J - Jonathan Richman cos he's a right weirdo. 'Pablo Picasso' is a good tune.
D - Damon Albarn. I'd love to see him at work. His writing seems to have no boundaries. Gorillaz latest album is miles away from Blur.
O - Simon Neil, something like 'A Whole Child Ago' or 'Fingers or Toes'. He's just such an interesting songwriter, in particular, his guitar playing.
M - Lou Reed, my favourite songwriter. would be awesome to make a record with him, a tune like 'I Can't Stand It' proper rock n roll n that.
What’s the best gig you’ve ever been to?
J - FIDLAR at the Brixton Electric. Mental shit. Just loads of kids going mad, nothing better.
O - I agree, 'Cocaine' is such a tune, one of those gigs when it gets hard to breathe.
D - Or The Cribs headlining Camden Rocks festival. Hearing all those bangers one after another while pissed and with your best mates, nothing beats it.
M - Hard to say really considering everyone I've been out myself to see I've loved but yeah I'd agree with James FIDLAR. pure craziness. 'The Punk Are Finally Taking Acid'. Tune.
What British music icons inspire your sound today?
J - The Clash, John Cooper Clarke, Iggy Pop, Oasis are all in there. 'Teenage Kicks' by The Undertones I think sounds like a lot of our stuff.
D - Big up The Undertones.
M - Well answered James. Forgot our Lou and I'd like to throw in The Kinks too. everything inspires us, man.
If you could spend an hour with anyone from history?
J - I'd really like to hang with Quentin Tarantino because I think his movies are cool as f***. Some of the quotes in Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction are genius.
D - Sean Connery. Has the coolest voice in the business and after all, he's James Bond.
O - Jimi Hendrix, just to jam out a bit.
M - Malcolm McClaren, the Sex Pistols manager would've liked to hear all the crazy stories when the Sex Pistols were killing it here.
Which British subculture means the most to you?
J - It's gotta punk really. Although I love the effect ska had on Britain. Would definitely say it changed a lot.
O - Teds or Punks.
M - Punk. It gave everyone a voice to shout.
D - Hands down, punk.
If you could share the bill with any British band in history?
J - Probably The Stooges. That would be a weird but fun night.
O - Biffy Clyro. They'll have a mad crowd and it would just be an honour.
M - The Clash, straight up bangers, easily relatable bangers that's why 'I'm so bored with the USA'.
What music did you listen to growing up?
J - My Mum always had Ian Dury on in the car and my Dad loved Led Zeppelin so those two were always on the family playlist. Love Bonham and Charlie Charles playing.
D - My dad loved 'IV' by Led Zeppelin too, had a bit of Alanis Morissette, Foo Fighters and Green Day too.
O - 'BYOB' by System of a Down.
M - Growing up I was caught up in anything that excited me, to be honest. Any song. Ketchup song. Banger.
BlackWaters are an indie punk outfit from Guildford who featured as part of our British New Wave 2017 where we said they "reboot British punk circa '76 for a new generation by capturing the essence of disaffected youth".
BlackWaters released their official debut EP 'People Street' in June 2018 which you can listen to via Spotify below. Catch them on tour celebrating its release throughout the UK in July. Tickets and details can be found here.

J - 'A Day In The Life' by the Beatles. Amazing tune. I think you hear the clear difference between Lennon and McCartney in that song.
O - 'Stayin' Alive' by Bee Gees.
D - 'Sweet Disposition' by The Temper Trap.
