A Caro Photo
What do you do?
Adam: Singer/Guitarist
Bryn: Drummer
Andrew: Bassist
Describe your style in three words?
Alternative Indie Rock
Which subcultures have had an enduring effect on you?
Bryn: Grunge and Classic Rock.
Andy: I was rather into BMXs as a teenager, probably the Skater scene.
If you could spend an hour with anyone from history?
Bryn: It would be pretty cool to hang out with Keith Moon from The Who. 'Pinball Wizard' is a great song.
Andy: I'd love to spend an hour with David Firth. I've watched his cartoons since I was probably way too young, he seems like an interesting chap.
Another you? Any other career that would have appealed?
Bryn: I always wanted to be a chef when I was younger, but I can't cook for diddly.
Andy: I like the idea of being a postman. Seems like an enjoyable job until I realise I'm very lazy.
Best Gig you have ever been to?
Bryn: It's between Jack White and Tame Impala.
Andy: Death Cab For Cutie, Manchester 2015.
Of all the venues you’ve played, which is your favourite?
The Brudenell in Leeds or the Deaf Institute in Manchester. Every time we've played these venues we've had a great time and the sound is always excellent too.
Soon to support Ghostpoet on tour, Leeds trio Caro will release their new single 'Lick Your Lips', with a headline show at The Lexington scheduled for 7th March.
The band were one of the many boundary-pushing new outfits longlisted for our British New Wave 2018 feature, drawing together some of the most promising artists on the current scene.
First track you played on repeat?
Bryn: Nirvana - 'Smells Like Teen Spirit'.
Andy: I can't remember the first, but the one that sticks out is Guns n Roses - 'Paradise City'.
Song that defines the teenage you?
Bryn: Mastodon - 'Colony of Birchmen'
Andy: Green Day - 'Jesus Of Suburbia'
What was the last piece of music you bought?
Bryn: Everything Everything - 'A Fever Dream'
Andy: Marika Hackman - 'I'm Not Your Man'
One record you would keep forever?
Bryn: Nirvana - 'Nevermind'
Andy: Led Zeppelin - 'Houses Of The Holy'
A song lyric that has inspired you?
Bryn: "Her name was Brahbrah. It was Barbara, there's no such name as Brahbrah." - Flight of the Conchords - 'We're Both In Love With A Sexy Lady'.
Andy: "I cut down trees, I eat my lunch, I go to the lavatory, on Wednesdays I go shopping and have buttered scones for tea" - Monty Python - 'The Lumberjack Song'.
A song that people wouldn’t expect you to like?
Bryn: Sophie Ellis-Bextor - 'Murder On The Dancefloor'
Andy: Anything by Taylor Swift.
A song you wished you had written?
Bryn: Led Zeppelin - 'Ramble On'
Andy: Fleetwood Mac - 'Go Your Own Way'
Any new bands you are listening to right now?
Bryn: Yonaka
Andy: Shame
