Describe your style in three words?
Polite, Quiet, Honest.
The first track you played on repeat? And where did you play it?
The Smiths - Well I Wonder - 2011 Remaster
Played it on my way home from Long Beach, ended up repeating the song the whole ride home.
A song from your favourite album? And what does this track mean to you?
blink-182 - Reckless Abandon
The track was the most pop punk song I had ever listened to and turned me on to the whole 2000’s pop punk scene. The album to me was a masterpiece.
A song from your most memorable gig?
Isaiah Rashad - Heavenly Father
The gig was in my hometown of Santa Ana. One of his older songs and he even brought out SZA to perform with him.
A song that always gets you up and dancing?
Red Hot Chili Peppers - Universally Speaking
This song is really about heroin addiction, but it is so uplifting and has such a good vibe to it, it can be seen as any other song about loving another being.
A new song you're listening to? Why do you like this artist?
Jay Electronica - Ghost Of Soulja Slim
The production on this song is really well done and Jay-Z’s verse is one of the best I’ve ever heard in this new age of rap.
Best song to turn up loud? And why?
Ramones - Blitzkrieg Bop - 2016 Remaster
I listen to it wherever it comes on. The song is just so catchy and has a great ring to it that I’ve never met anyone not ene hoy listening to it.
A song that defines the teenage you? And the memories it evokes?
Chance the Rapper - Prom Night
It conjures up memories of me walking home after school, thinking I was hot stuff because no one else listened to this type of rap at my age. Every kid my age would be listening to Macklemore and such.
An anthemic song? Why does it get your pulse racing?
Rage Against The Machine - Killing In the Name
The overall message. Rage showed me how much of an impact music can have. I always carry De La Rocha’s lyrics in the back of my head.
Best song to end an all-nighter?
David Bowie - Modern Love - 2018 Remaster
It ends the night with a bang. You can’t go wrong with ending the night with a David Bowie classic. The message is just so beautiful that it can be perfect to end a big get together or just with someone that means a lot to you.
