A Elah Hale Photo
Name, where are you from?
Hale Sheffield from Brooklyn NY.
Describe your style in three words?
Effortless, fun, summer.
What’s the best gig you’ve ever been to?
When I was nine with my best friend (and our parents). We went to a Hannah Montana concert and it was my very first concert and a memory I’ll cherish forever.
If you could be on the line up with any two bands in history?
Frank Ocean and Whitney Houston, Mainly so I could just listen to their music in the crowd haha.
Which subcultures have influenced you?
When I was younger I went to Willie Mae Rock Camp for Girls and that allowed me to be influenced by some phenomenal pop-punk bands and I don’t think that’s ever left me.
Of all the venues you’ve played, which is your favourite?
The first show I ever “played” was at the Music Hall Of Williamsburg and while I was much younger and it wasn’t about me specifically, it made me absolutely fall in love with performing.
Your greatest unsung hero or heroine in music?
I don’t know if Cass Elliot is considered an unsung hero but she deserved so much better.
The first track you played on repeat?
'Long Way 2 Go' by Cassie.
A song that defines the teenage you?
'Call Your Girlfriend' by Robyn.
One record you would keep forever?
'Self Control' by Frank Ocean.
A song lyric that has inspired you?
Basically anything by Phoebe Bridgers.
'Garden Song' by Phoebe Bridgers.
The song that would get you straight on the dance floor?
'Buy U A Drank' by T-Pain.
A song you wished you had written?
'Higher' by Rihanna.
Best song to turn up loud?
'Frontline' by Kelela.
Best song to bring people together?
'The Weekend' by SZA.
A song people wouldn’t expect you to like?
'Diamond In My Pocket' by Cody Johnson.
Best song to end an all-nighter on?
'Do You Love Her Now' by Jai Paul.
Any new music you are listening to right now?
'Do U Miss Me' by Becky and The Birds.
'Piece Of Me' by Lady Wray.
