Where are you from?

What do you do?
Bass player (Conttra).
Describe your style in three words?
Simple but elegant.
What’s the best gig you’ve ever been to?
The best one? I wouldn’t know where to start! Even if I have plenty of time to think about it. I can say that in the last years, one of the concerts that I’ve enjoyed the most it was Tame Impala at Primavera Sound Festival in 2016.
If you could be on the line up with any two bands in history?
I would say more than one but considering the direction that Conttra’s new album is taking, I choose Franc Moody and Parcels.
Which subcultures have influenced you?
Definitely, the clubbing scene that from the nineties in Barcelona, lead generations of Indie-Kids to dance tracks that mixed pop, rock and electronic music.
If you could spend an hour with anyone from history?
If I had this dreamy experience, would be, without any doubts, in the company of Leonard Cohen. We would talk, sing, drink, smoke, meditate… I'm already imagining it! If I have ever idolized an artist, it is none other than Leonard Cohen.
Of all the independent venues you’ve played, which is your favourite?
The truth is that I feel lucky to have been able to play with Conttra in well-known and emblematic venues such as Razzmataz, Apolo in Barcelona and La Riviera, Ocho y Medio in Madrid… but for many reasons, I inclined towards the concert hall of La Nau in Poblenou, a place somewhat more modest and not so known, that for us feels like home.
Your greatest unsung hero or heroine in music?
I recognize that I’ve always felt incline for Thom York and his way to understand art, always open to new proposals and advances.

'Stones Roses' from The Stone Roses. Under lock and key! Especially its song 'Made of Stone'.

'Tomorrow Never Knows' - The Beatles.
A song you wished you had written?
'Sunshine Of Your Love' - Cream. I would never get tired of listening to this monster!
Best song to turn up loud?
'Don’t Give Up' - Whitest Boy Alive
A song people wouldn’t expect you to like?
'Goya! Soda!' from Christine and the Queens. With the band, we had the chance to see her live and since then we are in love.
The song that would get you straight on the dance floor?
'Heavy, California' - Jungle.
Best song to end an all-nighter?
'A Break In The Clouds' from James Holden. It's a song that has its years but It doesn’t come to my mind a better soundtrack to end a great night. I can still see my friends smiling.
Any new bands you are into at the moment?
King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard. I think I love and hate them at the same time.
