Describe your style in three words?
Nothing but unique.
The first track you played on repeat? And where did you play it?
New Order - Bizarre Love Triangle '94
Was about 15. Got the “Brotherhood” album for about 3 quid from a local market. Had it on repeat for days, still play it non stop now.
A song from your favourite album? And what does this track mean to you?
Kings of Leon - I Want You
The very first album I purchased. If I’m honest all the tracks are quality but there’s something about “I want you”... give it a listen and you’ll know what I mean.
A song from your most memorable gig?
The Stone Roses - I Wanna Be Adored - Remastered
Manchester 3 years ago. I just remember my back killing but as soon as the riff started everyone went crazy. Flares went off and it was a proper spectacle, did get covered in “larger” tho.
A song that always gets you up and dancing?
Robin S - Show Me Love
I mean everyone loves this song. Timeless classic.
A new song you're listening to? Why do you like this artist?
Novelist - Better Way
Lyrically very talented and something different, always good to hear a positive message in grime.
Best song to turn up loud? And why?
Bloc Party - Flux
A night out is always a good place to listen to this. Got that old skool dance feel to it.
A song that defines the teenage you? And the memories it evokes?
Inner City - Pennies From Heaven
I remember growing up and listening to 90s house/dance music, which not many kids really got. Think from then I just loved the piano house and anything funky sounding. Even to this day no one appreciates the 80s and 90s dance scene but it will always have some of the best music.
An anthemic song? Why does it get your pulse racing?
Joy Division - Novelty - 2010 Remastered Version
With music it’s the relatability. Everyone can in some form relate to a song or the lyrics. In this case the novelty of something will always come to an end... pretty depressing really.
Best song to end an all-nighter?
Underworld - Born Slippy (Nuxx)
I think the John Hodge speech becomes most relatable to everyone at some point, especially the end of a all-nighter. We all reflect on our lives and this song encapsulates that very well.
