A Russ Davies Photo
Russ Davies
Born and raised London, UK... but currently spending some time in Portugal.
Create ethereal soundscapes.
Simple, classic, easy.
Maybe seeing Orbital at Glastonbury in 1995. A magical evening that has stayed with me to this day. Highlight of the gig was 'Halcyon On and On'.
For me, it was the underground electronic music scene in London in the 90s.
An era of musical influence that still plays a large part in my life.
As a young teen it was the hip-hop/rap of the times like Snoop and Dre, and also heavy guitar bands like Metallica, Guns and Roses and Nirvana. This was all before getting into electronic music.
Russ Davies is well known in the global electronic dance music scene, having produced over 15 albums and toured worldwide as his alter-ego's Abakus and Cinnamon Chasers.
Russ's latest album 'Open Road' was released in March 2017 and was a collaboration with his father and guitarist for The Kinks, Dave Davies.
Probably Billy Idol 'White Wedding'... I think I still aspire for my drum tracks to sound like that.
'Wish You Were Here' by Pink Floyd.
'Tubular Bells' by Mike Oldfield.
'Come As You Are' by Nirvana.
'EPoch' by Tycho.
"There is a crack in everything, that's how the light gets in."
'Anthem' by Leonard Cohen.
'Learning To Fly' by Tom Petty.
'Landslide' by Fleetwood Mac.
'Enter Sandman' by Metallica.
Favourite song from our new album.
Lovely OST song, love the space.
Love the atmosphere and night city vibe.
