The Strokes - Reptilia

"Reptilia" was the first Strokes song that I felt vulnerable when listening to. I could play this song a million times and will always feel the same way I did the first time I heard it.

A song from your favourite album? And what does this track mean to you?

BRONCHO - Sandman

It's difficult to pick a favorite tune off of BRONCHO’s fourth album, but, "Sandman" is the first song I clung to after the release. The song stimulates my endorphins and gives me butterflies every time I listen to it.

A song from your most memorable gig?

The Nude Party - Charlie's Sheep

"Charlie's Sheep” is a song written about singer/songwriter Charlie Megira. I hadn't been blown away by a song like this before. There was something extraordinary about the on-stage bond from the band as their music that was unlike anything else.

A song that always gets you up and dancing?

David Bowie - Let's Dance - 1999 Remastered Version

"Let's Dance" is a classic song by David Bowie. It reminds me of very drunk nights at Brighton house parties where I take over the stereo and attempt to DJ. It’s a very sweet and funny memory.

Wild Belle - Mockingbird

This brother-sister duo act combines reggae, soul, and world rock to create their unique music twist. "Mockingbird" is the first single of two to be released from their up-coming album, and is the most captivating of the new releases.

Best song to turn up loud? And why?

Electric Light Orchestra - All Over the World

Jeff Lynn was and still is a visionary musician. The song "All Over the World" appears in the ELO cult musical “Xanadu;” a film my mother introduced me to as a young girl. I feel very at ease when I sing and listen to this track.

A song that defines the teenage you? And the memories it evokes?

Timber Timbre - Too Old To Die Young

Timber Timbre [Taylor Kirk] is the one of the only musicians I connect too. He has taught me a lot about myself; it’s cliché, but after I discovered his music, I felt like I finally knew what I wanted from life and what musical direction I wanted to head.

An anthemic song? Why does it get your pulse racing?

Nancy Sinatra - You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin'

Nancy & Lee was an album that felt very personal to me around the time I had discovered where I wanted to head artistically. The emotion that both Nancy Sinatra and Lee Hazlewood pour into their version of this song captivates me.

Best song to end an all-nighter?

Allah-Las - No Voodoo

Allah-Las has such an extensive repertoire of beautiful songs, which makes them my go to when in the mood to lay down and obtain some peace of mind. "No Voodoo" has easily become one of my favourite tunes to end a long night.
