Name, where are you from?
Shin Sakiura, Tokyo.
What do you do?
Music Producer/Guitarist.
What’s the best gig you’ve ever been to?
The 1975 at Coachella 2019 had given me goosebumps all the way. What a quality of the live performance itself and while partly that the screen was so big on the main stage, but the VJ was so powerful, and the sound, all combined gave me one of the best feelings I've ever felt at a live show.
Which subcultures have influenced you?
Fashion, if not music. I bought my first ever coat during high school which was fishtail from thrift, trying to look like Liam Gallagher. I’d pick up any styles nowadays though, I’m a fan of British rock musician’s style.
Of all the venues you’ve played, which is your favourite?
Unit Daikanyama. My own solo gig at the end of 2019. It’s a live house that I made frequent visit to since I was a student so I had a lot of people I know who came to the gig.
If you could spend an hour with anyone from history?
Jimmy Page during Led Zeppelin period. He was making a lot of great music when he was about my age now, and I'd ask about how he felt about the music, the creative process and about how he sees the global world.

The first track you played on repeat?
'All Around The World' by Oasis. I listen to this repeatedly from time to time.
A song that defines the teenage you?
'L.S.F. (Lost Souls Forever)' by Kasabian, and 'Teddy Picker' by Arctic Monkeys. Both were played frequently on the way to school.
One record you would keep forever?
‘Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not’ by Arctic Monkeys. I bought this as the very first album when I was in sixth grade or eighth grade. I did copy and played the guitar parts a lot. I didn't have any friends who listened to UK rock at that age, I felt quite alone listening to it in solitude (laughs).
Best song to turn up loud?
'Songbird' by Oasis. It’s an easy track for a newbie to play that I practised many times after getting the first guitar.
A song people wouldn’t expect you to like?
'Vossi Bop' by Stormzy. People might think I only listen to the mellow jazzy stuff but I also go for grime including Stormzy and Skepta recently too.
New bands you are listening to now?
Easy Life. I listened to this band pretty much the most for the past year. I personally find their sound creation and how they play with textures very helpful for music production.
