Name, where are you from?
We are Ultraflex and we consist of Katrín Helga Andrésdóttir (Special-K) from Iceland and Kari Jahnsen (Farao) from Norway.

Describe your style in three words?
Comfi, classy, extra.

What’s the best gig you’ve ever been to?
Coincidentally, we were both at an amazing Flaming Lips concert at Iceland Airwaves 2014. That was five years before we knew each other but somewhere in the audience we were, maybe far apart, maybe right next to each other, screaming our lungs out to their weird lyrics.

If you could be on the line up with any two artists in history?
Britney Spears and Saâda Bonaire. We’d wanna know what it was like to party with Britney backstage pre-shave, and Saâda Bonaire was this awesome German female duo from the '80s who had flawless style, very cool music and all of their press shots makes it look like they were masters of partying.

Which subcultures have influenced you?
Meme culture - existential, yet silly. Wonderfully tasteless aesthetics. Queer culture - unapologetic, daring, sexy. Post-soviet aesthetics - provincial Lithuanian discotheques and Kiev raves – it has an air of irresistible rough coolness.

If you could spend an hour with anyone from history?
Jesus Christ. Intense eyes, great body, sexy hair.

Of all the venues you’ve been to or played, which is your favourite?
Internet Explorer - a short-lived but legendary underground venue in Berlin that unfortunately closed their doors in 2019. We played our first ever Berlin show there and it was a blast.

Your greatest unsung hero or heroine in music?
Uku Kuut. He was an Estonian funk musician/producer who made amazing electronic music between his homes in LA and Tallin. We actually named our album 'Visions of Ultraflex' after his masterpiece album 'Vision of Estonia'.
